Move The Mig M Recap

It’s been a pretty amazing week for us here at VeliQ.  Although we are certainly not a brand new organization coming out of “Stealth Mode,” we did have – for lack of a better term - our coming out party this past week.  Last Thursday, at the “Boom Chicago” club in Amsterdam, we invited people to join us to the Move The Big M and get into the Mobility Fast Lane…and Move they did!

I am thrilled to share with you that the event was absolutely packed.  There was literally not a single seat available as we shared over dinner, drinks and entertainment (more on that later) our vision of how there’s a vital need for an ecosystem to deliver on the promise of mobility in the enterprise.

We also officially shared our Enterprise Mobility Manifesto, which you can see here.  In short, there are 10 principles that we and our partners believe in.  Specifically, organizations and ICT departments should no longer:

  • Worry About Supporting More Than One Platform
  • Fear The Proliferation Of Devices
  • Be Weary Of The Consumerization Of IT
  • Fear The Empowerment Of The User
  • Be Concerned By The Pace Of Change In Mobility
  • Be Considered Hinderers Of Business Innovation And Instead Enablers Of Corporate Value
  • Be Concerned By The Complexity Around Mobile Application Development
  • Wait For Tangible ROIs In Mobility Initiatives
  • Be Bound To One Sub-Optimal Technology Partner
  • Adopt A One-Size-Fits-All Mobility Solution

So back to the entertainment.  The guys at Boom Chicago did a great job of entertaining the crowd and poking some fun at the status quo for enterprise mobility.  They showed some of their recent skits around:

We also had some musical entertainment where a rap group performed the first ever enterprise mobility rap song.  You can see the official “music video” here and even download the ringtone here.

By the time the evening was over, you could tell that something had truly changed.  The people I was having conversations with were beginning to realize that a movement is emerging…the movement to managed mobility ecosystems.  They began to understand that we all have a role in the market and that together we can all help organizations better leverage mobility solutions in their workplaces.

So is that it?  Absolutely not.  Just like enterprise mobility is only truly coming into its own, we’re getting ready to move things into high gear.  Stay tuned as we get ready to share some more exciting news as we continue our efforts to build out the ecosystem and Move The Big M!
